ICMSV presents a rare morning recital of ragas and ghazals with Ramesh Jule - a senior vocalist of the Kirana gharana. Under his grandfather Pandit Sukhdev Prasad's mentorship Jule grew into a seasoned artist, continuing his training with his uncle Pandit Mani Prasad. Known for a rich voice replete with emotional nuance and 'tayyari' (skilled form), Jule's repertoire extends across khayal, thumri, ghazal, and bhajan forms along with an assortment of rare and specialized ragas. Ramesh Jule is also a sought-after guru who is known for training Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle. Mohan Bhide and Hriday Buddhdev will join on harmonium and tabla respectively.

This event is a baithak (house concert) hosted at a community member's apartment building social room located in Olympic Village. There will be limited floor and chair seating available. Please purchase your tickets via our website by 10.00pm on October 25, 2024 to reserve your spots and receive the address. This will be a two hour program with no intermission.

This program is presented by the Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver (ICMSV). If you are looking to sponsor this event please send us an email to [email protected]
