An exciting last-minute addition to our upcoming events! Come learn a Carnatic composition and neraval techniques with internationally acclaimed vocalist Gayathri Venkataraghavan, whom we are featuring in-concert on April 3rd.
This workshop is designed for Carnatic and Hindustani vocalists with a basic grounding in improvisation and is not suited for beginner-level students.
Gayathri Venkataraghavan is a renowned Carnatic vocalist celebrated for her melodious, pitch-perfect voice and creative depth. Trained under Vidwan Sri A. Sundharesan and Sri P. S. Narayanaswamy, she remains firmly rooted in tradition while presenting complex ideas with ease. A globally performed artist, she has appeared at major festivals across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Her music reflects a belief in its power to calm, connect, and uplift audiences. A recipient of numerous awards, including Kala Ratna and honors from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai, she is also a dedicated teacher. Through her school, Gaana Vinyāsa, and educational YouTube content, she continues to inspire students and rasikas worldwide.
This program is co-presented by the Kalāvāṇī Institute, the education division of the Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver (ICMSV), and Time Will Tell Arts Society.
