Aṣṭa Alliance Town Hall Meeting
Aṣṭa Alliance is an organization dedicated to strengthening Vancouver’s arts community by creating spaces for engagement with the rich classical performing arts traditions of India.
ICMSV and Aṣṭa have shared a longstanding relationship since the incorporation of both organizations. Founded in 2017, the two groups grew alongside one another, with Aṣṭa’s founding President, Harsimran Sachdeva, also serving as ICMSV’s founding Vice-President. United by friendship and a shared passion to see Indian classical music and dance thrive on the UBC campus, ICMSV and Aṣṭa developed in close partnership - forming a lasting bond as sister organizations.
In the past year, Aṣṭa’s leadership approached ICMSV to explore integrating the organization under our umbrella to ensure the continuation of its mission. This virtual town hall is designed to gather feedback from Indian classical dancers across the Lower Mainland, helping shape the launch of ICMSV’s dance wing following the adoption of Aṣṭa Alliance.
This program is presented by Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver (ICMSV)
