An exciting last-minute addition to our upcoming events! Seasoned Hindustani vocalist Aparna Panshikar is visiting Vancouver and we're making the most of her visit with a workshop-baithak combo. You can register for one or the other, or make an immersive day of music with both programs!

Learn specialized exercises from the Gwalior and Jaipur styles and techniques for unfolding a rāga
4.30pm to 6.30pm: Baithak
An acoustic recital featuring Sunny Matharu on tabla and Mohan Bhide on harmonium
Aparna Panshikar is an accomplished Indian classical vocalist with over three decades of performance experience at prestigious classical and world music festivals in India and internationally, and is currently based in Pune. Born into a distinguished performing arts family, she trained under the late Pandit Bhaskarbua Joshi, a disciple of Pandit Ramkrishnabua Vaze of the Gwalior gharana, and continues her musical journey under the guidance of her mother, Meera Panshikar, a direct disciple of Kishori Amonkar.
This program is presented by the Kalāvāṇī Institute, the education division of the Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver (ICMSV), in partnership with NaadSaptak.
